Creature Cookies Recipe

Create mouthwatering creature-themed treats for your friends and family!



  • 2 sticks unsalted butter

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 egg

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Egg Carton


  • 3 cups powdered sugar

  • 3-4 tablespoons milk

  • 2 Tablespoons light corn syrup

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Food Coloring (optional)

Making Creature Cookies



  1. Combine butter and sugar in bowl; beat until creamy and combined

  2. Add egg, vanilla, and beat until combined

  3. Whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder in separate bowl

  4. Slowly add dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until combined

  5. Place half of the dough onto large piece of plastic wrap, repeat with remaining half

  6. Cover both pieces of dough with the plastic wrap and flatten into a disk

  7. Transfer dough to refrigerator and chill for 2 hours

  8. Preheat oven to 350F

  9. Dust a cutting board with flour and place chilled dough onto board

  10. Cut out cookies in the shape of your favorite creatures!

  11. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until the edges begin to turn light brown

  1. Combine sugar, milk, vanilla, and corn syrup in a bowl and stir until combined (add food coloring if desired)

  2. Transfer frosting into piping bag with piping tip and begin decorating cookies once they have cooled down!
